Hi there! We are Bridgette and Mike along with our children Maddie and Luke from Washington state. Would you consider a dad that swings on the jungle gym just to get a laugh out of our kiddos? What about a mom who enjoys petting zoos as much as a child? Or how about two siblings that will be your child’s protector AND partner in crime? If you answered “of course!”, “absolutely!”, or “who wouldn’t?!”, then we invite you to check out our large, fun-loving family. Although this profile shows a small piece of our hearts, this is really about YOUR love, courage, and trust. Ultimately, you decide what is best for you and your child and we hope whatever choice you make brings you peace. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us!
Dear Birth Mother...
Our Path to Adoption
We have always wanted to be parents. Bridgette was blessed to adopt our wonderful daughter and son at birth and later Michael seamlessly stepped in as a “bonus dad.” Because of this, adoption was a very natural next step for growing our family. We feel fortunate to have fully open relationships with each of their birth families and welcome whatever level of openness feels best for you. We love sharing the REAL, sometimes boring (and sometimes amazing!) day to day stuff with their birth families. Over the years we have enjoyed visits, texts, and zoom calls. Each relationship is unique and we adjust based on what each person is comfortable with. We will honor your wishes and story, regardless of the level of openness we have.
Our Story
Our story isn’t traditional, but it’s ours! It all started with a “swipe right” and we quickly bonded over our love of Mexican food (who doesn’t love chips and salsa?!) and family. Soon we started making special memories together. We survived the "great bubble flood of 2022" (who knew putting half a bottle of bubbles in a tub was a bad idea?), fed seals and capybaras, and made sandcastle masterpieces. After these laughs and quiet moments together, we got married in Las Vegas (no, Elvis wasn't there) and began our journey together. Today, our lives are full of happiness. We find the joy in small things - family game nights, playing with our dogs in the backyard, helping with homework, and trips to the park. Our children are the center of our world and we are so excited to share our life with another kiddo!

About Bridgette, by Bridgette
Hi, I'm Bridgette - Lover of animals, Disney and all things sparkly: I was born in North Carolina and moved to Washington state in 2018. I am passionate about helping others and making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Being a parent is the most important thing I have ever done! When I’m not embarrassing my kiddos by singing along to my favorite songs (loudly, with the windows down), I love seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new.
As a former teacher, helping my children learn brings me so much joy! My current role is still in education - I work from home as an Education Manager in the healthcare field. I love the flexibility my new job provides! It allows me to attend every school function, chaperone every classroom party, and be present for every important milestone. I will always be there for my family.
Bridgette's Fun Facts & Favs
- Favorite Place to Take a Child: Disney World

A Word from Mike About Bridgette
Thoughtful. Caring. Supportive: Bridgette is the kindest and most authentic soul I have ever met. She's dedicated her life to helping others. Bridgette has worked with sick children, helped foster kiddos find safe homes, supported birth parents, and rescued animals. I've seen her move mountains for our children and spend countless hours listening to and helping friends. If needed, she will even make you laugh by putting glitter on her face and sparkles in her hair.
She has incredible energy, awareness, emotional intelligence, dedication, and humor. These traits are what make her such an amazing mother, partner, and friend. Her heart will continue to foster love, care, and understanding (as well as an extreme love of all things Disney) in our home!
About Mike, by Mike
Hi, I'm Mike! When I was a kid, some of my friends called me “horse-boy” or “beast master” and they couldn’t have been more right. I have always loved animals. I can’t remember a time in my life where I had less than 2 pets (normally 4+) outside of my time in the Navy. It’s a huge part of who I am.
Teaching and playing with our kids is something that I get a great amount of fulfillment from. I constantly want to show them new places, play new games with them, and help them discover who they are and who they want to be. Although I’m not a stay-at-home-dad (currently an Engineer), that would be my dream job!
I’m high energy and normally very upbeat, so sharing a home with my wife, our two kids, and pets has been a dream come true. I can’t wait to add another child to the mix!

A Word from Bridgette About Mike
The moment I saw Mike pretending to be a brain-eating zombie chasing Luke through a crowded store, I knew he was meant to be a parent. As a “bonus dad” to Maddie and Luke, he has seamlessly fit into our family and filled the role of a father. He is by far the most patient, loving, and honest person I know. He is the kind of dad that will run around a playground, making silly noises to make our children laugh. Mike truly shows love in everything he does.
Some of Bridgette's Favorite Things About Mike Are...
- Energy. He can keep up with anyone!
- Kindness. He shows care for all things.
- Humor. He makes it hard to not smile.
- Creativity. He built the most unique solar system at a summer camp for sick kiddos.

Super Excited Future Big Sister and Big Brother

Maddie is an amazing older sister who loves being there for her younger brother. She is excited to welcome a new addition to the family!
Luke - Forever chasing zombies, playing tag with dad, and making cool things with Legos, Luke is a kiddo that brings a smile to everyone who knows him. Home Sweet Home
Our warm and sunny three-story home is located in a quiet neighborhood about 40 minutes south of Seattle, Washington. We have a fenced-in backyard that is perfect for playing fetch with our puppies. During the summer, the neighborhood hosts a big 4th of July block party, complete with hot dogs, games, and all the fun a kid could ask for. Our neighborhood is extremely diverse and family-oriented with children of all ages. There is certainly no shortage of playmates. We love that we are located between the mountains and the beach. A short car ride will take us into the city where there are tons of fun things for families to do. When the weather cools down a bit, the Washington State Fair comes into town, complete with yummy cotton candy and ferris wheels. We love participating in our community’s unique activities with our children and are excited to share them with a new addition to the family!
We Love Our Furry Friends!
Our pets love children! We love days spent at the park or in the backyard playing fetch and nights with a kitty snuggled on our laps.
- Obie - Doodle, parrot in a puppy's body
- Mo - doodle, will find every stick in the park (and sometimes make her own)
- Annie - older pup, wants belly rubs & treats
- Haru - cat that thinks she’s a dog, gives hugs
- Hiiro - loving black purr-box, bro to Haru
- Toothless - cuddliest black cat, loves people
Our Family Loves Traditions
- Christmas - Cut down our own Christmas tree and decorate it while baking cookies and listening to Christmas music
- Winter - Spend a week with family sharing food, laughs, and dodging wrapping paper
- Halloween - Wear costumes, enjoy the neighborhood block party, and trick-or-treat
- Fall - Visit the pumpkin patch to pick out the best pumpkin and get lost in a corn maze
- Summer - Berry picking at our local farm
Our Family and Friends
Our combined family is huge! Mike has five siblings (3 brothers and 2 sisters), each with their own children, and Bridgette has a sister with two kiddos. Between the two families, there are 12 cousins, 7 aunts, 5 uncles, and 2 grandparents for a new little one to play with and be loved by. Both sides of the family fully embrace adoption as several of us are touched by it: Mike’s sister adopted her first daughter and we adopted our children. There are also several blended families and diverse cultures that make us one loud, loving, and rambunctious bunch!
Family is the most important thing in our lives. We make it a priority to visit several times throughout the year. Mike’s mom and dad LOVE hosting the entire bunch at their home in Las Vegas, especially for Christmas! Matching PJs, gingerbread house building, and 800 relatives unwrapping gifts at the same time (watch out for flying paper!) make for amazing memories. Our family is thrilled to welcome another little one!
On Parenting
Parenting is the most important thing we will ever do in our lives. Being a parent means recognizing our gifts and limitations so that we can be the best versions of ourselves for our kiddos. Although it means losing some sleep (and hair), it also means having a purpose greater than ourselves.
Some Values We Hold Dear Are...
- Acting with love, always
- Celebrating everyone's individuality
- Respecting each other's feelings
- Nurturing strengths and interests
- Encouraging curiosity and learning
- Being honest in all things
